Al zolang ze zich kan herinneren is ze zich bewust van het feit dat ze geen meisje-meisje is. In die tijd werd ze voor het eerst hard gecorrigeerd door haar leeftijdsgenoten voor het \u2018buiten de norm treden\u2019. Tegenwoordig, nu ze een jonge vrouw is, ziet ze hoe deze verwachtingen en constante correcties haar als persoon hebben gevormd\/vormen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-text-color-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-3cbf7637c37e8dd39f3d0586cee482ab wp-block-paragraph\">Ze is ge\u00efnteresseerd in hoe we onszelf en anderen iets opleggen waar eigenlijk alleen ongeschreven regels voor zijn. Met haar kunsten onderzoekt Amy of ze deze regels kan buigen en\/of breken om ze in haar kracht te zetten en daarmee sociale discussies kan starten en be\u00efnvloeden rondom genderrollen en seksualiteit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-text-color-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-6c7830337d67f76cd62673bab93c2985 wp-block-paragraph\">Haar werken zijn te herkennen aan heftige kleurcontrasten, symbolische verwijzingen en een combinatie van herkenbaarheid en vervreemding in de beelden. Ze maakt veel gebruik van studio fotografie maar werkt ook graag in de natuur. Haar installaties bestaan uit videobeelden, fotografische beelden, found footage en found sound.
